Final founding trust member at Kidderminster's Odell Centre steps down

Tristan Harris 12th Dec, 2025

THE FINAL founding trustee of The Odell Trust has decided to step down from the organisation.

The trust runs the Odell Centre in Kidderminster, a social, leisure and recreational day activity centre for adults with mild to moderate levels of learning disability, mental health issues, physical disability, sensory impairment, acquired brain injury, autism or general vulnerability.

Trevor Burgess decided the time was right to step down from the trust which was formally recognised as a registered charity in 1984.

Trevor was part of the original working party of professionals, working behind the scenes for some two years prior to that and setting up what would eventually go on to become the Odell Centre.

Trevor was not only involved with the governance side of the charity, which included a 35-year spell as treasurer, but he was also practically very hands on in the early years, undertaking numerous Odell Centre projects related to building alterations and maintenance.

A trust spokesperson said: “Everyone here connected to The Odell Trust would like to say a massive thank you to Trevor for everything he has done for the Odell Centre and our attending members over a period of 43 years.”

Trevor will still maintain a link with Odell, however, as he will continue in the role of honorary president of The Odell Trust.
