RESIDENTS across Wyre Forest will now be able to recycle even more from home.

From this month, people can put aluminium foil and plastic tubes in their green bin.

Those items will be collected with the usual materials which can already be recycled in the kerbside collection scheme, such as paper, card, glass jars and bottles, cartons, tins, cans, empty aerosols, and plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays.

The changes are part of the government’s simpler recycling plan, which aims to make recycling more consistent across England, making it easier to know what goes where and help boost recycling rates.Residents are asked to make sure all recycling is clean and empty. Bins should be out by 6am on collection day.

Coun Nathan Desmond, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for operational services, said: “We’re pleased to be able to recycle even more everyday items in the kerbside scheme.

“This will make recycling simpler for everyone and help us cut down on waste across the district and boost recycling rates.”
