A COMMUNITY centre near Kidderminster has launched an appeal to find more volunteers and has organised an event to showcase its activities.
Wolverley Memorial Hall wants local people who may be interested in volunteering for a couple of hours each week to attend a free breakfast event at the community cafe from 10am to 11am on Thursday, September 11.
On that day, the community cafe at the hall will be serving free pastries with tea or coffee to encourage people to find out about a whole range of volunteering opportunities.
Graham Wallis, chair of the trustees for Wolverley Memorial Charitable Trust which maintains the hall, grounds and children’s playground for local people to enjoy, said:
“Just a couple of hours of week of someone’s time could really help us.
“We need help in the community cafe which has become a hugely popular venue for locals.
“But we also need help to keep the grounds tidy and to develop our community garden. Inside maintenance is also always needed.
“We’re hoping some local DIY enthusiasts might come forward.“
Anyone interested in volunteering opportunities should go along to the venue on Thursday or email Graham at [email protected] for more information.
The Wolverley Memorial Community Cafe holds a variety of activities and events.
