A FREE Late Summer Plant Fair takes place at Bodenham Arboretum near Kidderminster next Saturday, August 30.
The Plant Hunters’ Fair will be held from 10am to 4pm, giving people the chance to browse a variety of late flowering plants to perk up beds and borders and fill the garden with scent.
Organiser Martin Blow said “It’s been a fab summer and we’ve all been making the most of our outdoor space.
“The nurseries will have thousands of plants to choose from with just the right plant to set your summer garden ablaze with colour, plus there is lots of expert knowledge on hand to help you choose the best for your own unique garden.
“So, if your garden needs a late summer lift, or you’ve been inspired to dig a new border then this is the place to find some different and exciting plants lovingly grown by passionate plantspeople.
“Plus, there will be a great range of garden accessories to choose from for all those finishing touches.”
“The plant fair is completely free to enter so you can just pop along and browse the plant stalls.
“So, whether it’s alpines, shrubs, bee-friendly perennials, herbs, wildflowers, bulbs, plants for shade or foliage plants you are sure to find something to fill those gaps and create a blooming brilliant garden.”

The lakeside restaurant will also be open, serving hot and cold drinks, lunches and snacks using produce from the arboretum’s own farm.
People can also explore the 156-acre arboretum but there will be a separate admission charge for those wanting to enter.
The Plant Hunters’ Fairs were started in 2007 by plantaholics Janet and Martin Blow from Hankelow, Audlem, Cheshire.
The fairs are special and different because entry costs are kept low – many are free to enter.
Where an entrance fee is charged all the entrance money goes to the garden hosting the event, often Charitable Trusts, raising much needed funds to help maintain these lovely gardens into the future.
