FAMILIES are being reminded of the affordable adventures they can embark on over half-term, writes Sam Wadsworth.
From magical woodland trails to thrilling outdoor activities, the district’s beautiful forest offer endless possibilities for creating special memories – many completely free of charge!
Here’s a snapshot of what’s happening at Wyre Forest this half term:
- Room on the Broom family adventure trail – This magical journey costs £4 per travel pack and will take you on an adventure to help Witch find her lost hat, bow, and wand and collect special ingredients to complete the spell.
- Learn about amazing forests together – This is a great opportunity to discover the forest’s amazing wildlife for just £5 per bag hire and includes a fun quiz at the end to test what you have learned on your adventure.
- Find a walking trail – Choose a gentle stroll with plenty of great picnic spots, or head deeper into the forest for more challenging hikes or take the pushchair friendly route for younger children, this activity is completely free.
- Gruffalo orienteering – Take on a Gruffalo orienteering challenge with the whole family for £1.50 per orienteering leaflet, this fun, family-friendly adventure brings children and adults together to discover twelve hidden Gruffalo markers around the forest.
- Go on a wildlife spotting adventure – Turn your family walk into a wildlife adventure free of charge, the forest is home to all kind of amazing creatures.
