SEASIDE fun will come to Kidderminster’s Springfield Park tomorrow (Saturday, August 30) when Mikron Theatre brings its brand new musical to town.
Operation Beach Hut will be performed from 1pm to 3pm at the park in Springfield Lane.
The production, which is free to attend, takes audiences on a nostalgic trip to the Great British seaside to explore its traditions, history and enduring charm. The story follows Holly, who arrives in the sleepy coastal town of Fiddling-On-Sea and is hoping for a quiet break from city life.
But, instead of that, she finds herself caught up in the chaos of the town’s fiercely contested ‘Best Beach Hut’ competition.
As the contest deadline looms, Holly discovers more is at stake than just seaside bragging rights, as colourful characters and forgotten stories from centuries past come to light.
Mikron’s performances are known for their warmth, humour and accessibility. Operation Beach Hut includes integrated audio description, making the show fully accessible to visually impaired audiences without the need for headsets. Families, theatre lovers and anyone in need of a seaside escape are invited to bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the free outdoor performance.
