WORCESTERSHIRE’s on demand bus service is expanding again, with the launch of a new North West zone, including Stourport and Bewdley, and extending to Tenbury Wells.
This is the fifth Worcestershire on Demand area to be introduced, following six months of rapid delivery that has seen services expand in Wychavon and Malvern, alongside the launch of the North Central zone.
To celebrate recent launch, all journeys within the North West, North Central and North Malvern zones will be free until the end of February.
Journeys within Worcestershire on Demand zones are capped at 15km (around nine miles), measured as the crow flies.
Coun Karl Perks, cabinet member for highways and transport at Worcestershire County Council, said: “I’m delighted Worcestershire’s on demand bus service is expanding to reach even more communities, including my local area.
“This launch is another significant step in improving access to affordable, sustainable and user-friendly transport across Worcestershire.
“Our on-demand bus services are already proving to be a flexible and reliable option, particularly for people living in rural communities.
“With the service free to use in this zone until the end of February, I’d encourage residents and visitors alike to get out and explore this beautiful part of Worcestershire.”
