A POPULAR driver at a Kidderminster firm has been wished a fond farewell after he retired following more than three decades of service.
Alan Ferris has been a driver for Tippers – a building materials supplier which trades off the Coppice Trading Estate – for 32 years.
But earlier this month, Alan parked up his Tippers vehicle for the final time as he prepared to enjoy a well-earned retirement.
A spokesperson for the firm bid Alan a fond farewell, describing his service as ‘incredible’.
“Alan has been a true staple of the Kidderminster branch, having been there from the very beginning when Tippers acquired Derringtons Kidderminster in the early 1990s.
“Over the years, he’s become a familiar and friendly face to so many of our customers and team members alike.
“Alan, thank you for your long and loyal service – we wish you a very happy and well-earned retirement.”
Many of Alan’s friends and former customers also congratulated Alan on his retirement.
One said: “Happy retirement, Alan. No matter how busy you were, you always had time to speak and acknowledge.
“You are a lovely, pleasant man.”
Others described Alan as an ‘absolute gentleman’.
