Have your say on new play area in Wyre Forest

Kidderminster Editorial 8th May, 2026

CHILDREN, families and the wider community are being urged to have their say to help shape a brand new play area in Wyre Forest, writes Tom Harris.

The existing play area at the forest is set to be completely revamped into a new welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable space for all ages and abilities.

As part of the plans, an online survey is available for people to share their views on what they would like to see in the play area.

Feedback will be used to shape the design.

Hamish Wood, the recreation manager for Forestry England at Wyre Forest, said: “We want the new play area at Wyre Forest to be a place where children feel comfortable, confident and excited to play.

“By listening to families and young people, we can design a space that reflects different abilities, interests and ways of enjoying the forest.”

The survey takes around five minutes to complete.

People can visit: surveymonkey.com/r/WyrePlayArea to submit their views.

The deadline for responses is May 31.

The project is supported by funding from the UK Government as part of its ongoing commitment to improve access to nature.
