MORE than 130 tractors journeyed from the Far Forest Showground to Bewdley town centre for the annual Boxing Day Tractor Run.

And, although the final fundraising total is not yet known, it is thought the popular event will have raised more than £4,000 for the Worcestershire Prostate Cancer Support Group and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust charities.

Hundreds of people came out to see the impressive vehicles and cheer on the drivers on a beautifully sunny, crisp winter day.

Ray Attwood, who has been running the event for the last 15 years, told the Standard: “It all went very well.

“The weather could not have been better and the crowds certainly turned out for the occasion.
“It gives people something to do on Boxing Day, out in the fresh air and people of all ages love it – especially the younger visitors.”

En route to Bewdley, the tractors passed by several places, including Rock, Abberley and Stourport.
The event was also supported by the Mayor of Bewdley, Coun Nicole Harper, and the Mayor of Stourport, Coun John Thomas.
