KIDDERMINSTER’S first-ever Oktoberfest has been hailed a massive success.
The event, dubbed the ‘biggest Bavarian party in Kidderminster’, saw people turn out to the Weaving Sheds in their droves on Saturday (October 25).
The fun kicked off at midday with a five-hour extravaganza of family fun, before the drinking ramped up a gear after 6pm.
The venue was transformed into a traditional Bavarian beer hall, with hundreds of benches clad in tablecloths, while guests wore their finest Lederhosen to the party.
There was a huge selection of German lagers, beers, spirits, and cocktails for people to enjoy.
People could take their pictures with characters from Frozen, while youngsters could also have their faces painted.
Plenty of authentic Bavarian food was also available, including Bratwurst, Currywurst, Frankfurters, and vegan sausage.
The event was organised by Kidderminster BID.
BID manager James Barker told the Standard: “We were absolutely amazed by the incredible turnout for the very first Oktoberfest held within the new Weaving Sheds.
“The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, showing just how much potential this space has to bring people together and create memorable experiences.
“There are a hundred different ways to bring the Weaving Sheds to life – from cultural celebrations to creative markets – all helping to drive footfall, energy, and tourism right into the heart of Kidderminster.”
