KEMP Hospice is appealing to local businesses, community groups and residents to donate battery-powered lights and decorations to help illuminate its new Moonlight Walk.
The magical evening stroll is taking place on July 31 under the full moon of Bodenham Arboretum. It will raise vital funds for the charity.
As well as the 3km walk in the grounds of the beautiful venue, the event will feature music, live entertainment, food and refreshments.
Ian Carr, KEMP Hospice’s head of fundraising and communications, said: “We are very excited to bring back an event similar to our previously loved Midnight Walk.
“But we need help to make it as magical as possible and lighting up Bodenham Arboretum should make it a night to remember, whilst still raising vital funds for KEMP Hospice.”
The appeal will help create the unique and magical atmosphere. KEMP Hospice wants donations of battery and/or solar powered fairy lights and string lights, lanterns, LED candles, light-up decorations and batteries.
Ian added: “We hope this event will be a cause for celebration for people.
“It’s an occasion for family and friends to enjoy together.
“We will also have a section of the walk dedicated to those who are no longer with us.
“We’re hoping people can donate battery-powered lights and decorations to help us create a special atmosphere for everyone.”
The Moonlight Walk, sponsored by The Gables Care Home, is an event open to everyone, whether they want to honour someone or have a fun evening with friends. By donating any working battery powered lights, participants will help support KEMP.
