Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Det Insp Lisa Tibbitts said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have any information that could help with our enquires into the fire.

“In particular we are aware of a group of people who were walking towards the flats on Stourbridge Road, who we believe are key witnesses and I urge them to contact us.

“I’m thankful that nobody was injured as a result of the fire and following initial enquiries we believe this to be an isolated incident that posed no wider threat to the local community.”
