Kidderminster Museum of Carpet announces opening hours for Easter and coming weeks

Tristan Harris 23rd Mar, 2026

THE KIDDERMINSTER Museum of Carpet which was under threat has announced its latest opening hours – just in time for the Easter holidays.

From this Saturday, March 28, the venue’s galleries will be open every Saturday and Tuesday from 10am to 2pm.

Volunteers at the museum are hoping people will ‘spread the word’ to family and friends so when they visit Worcestershire or the West Midlands this summer, they can head down and see what is on offer.

They have also asked anyone in the tourism injury to let people know about the Museum of Carpet.

“We rely heavily on the good will of local people to keep going – not only in providing us with volunteers now that we are entirely volunteer-run, but in helping us spread the word that Kidderminster has a fantastic story to tell.

“It is crucial that our heritage is kept alive in our fully-working powerlooms and our important collection of art and other objects.

“We regularly change our displays, so there is often something new to see.”

They added, as many people knew, the journey of the museum in the past six months had been ‘a roller-coaster’ of ups, downs, twists and turns.

“As volunteers, we couldn’t re-open without the support of our community, so a ‘huge thank you’ to each and every one of you who has shared, liked, or commented on our social media or supported us in some other way.

“Know that it is important and very much appreciated.”
