Kidderminster pharmacy and MIU times for the bank holiday weekend

Tristan Harris 22nd May, 2026

RESIDENTS across Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley are being urged to ensure they get the right treatment this late May bank holiday weekend.

The Minor Injury Unit (MIU) at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre will be open from 8am to 10pm everyday, including the bank holiday Monday.

Extended x-ray services will be available from 9am until 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 23, 24 and 25.

People can contact the department directly on 01562 513039 for advice prior to attendance if they wish.

People are being urged to go to the MIU for minor injuries, rather than to A&E at Redditch’s Alexandra Hospital or the Worcestershire Royal.

Waiting times are often shorter and patients can be seen a lot quicker.

MIUs are open throughout weekends and bank holidays, treating injuries such as sprains, simple fractures, cuts, burns, minor head injuries and wound infections.

Using the local MIU when appropriate helps reduce waiting times and keeps emergency departments free for more serious cases.

Pharmacies also offer expert confidential advice for minor incidents and illnesses as well as medicines for a range of minor ailments.

In Kidderminster on bank holiday Monday, the pharmacy in Boots, Weavers Wharf, is open from 10.30am to 4.30pm and the Tesco Instore Pharmacy at the Tesco

Superstore in Castle Road is also open between 10am and 4pm.

People can visit: 111.nhs.uk or call 111 to get advice from trained NHS staff, including signposting to the best service to meet their healthcare needs.
