Kidderminster Sea Cadets and Royal Marines to hold open day

Ryan Smith 19th Apr, 2026

KIDDERMINSTER Sea Cadets and Royal Marines detachment is inviting young people to an open evening next week.

Youngsters aged between 12 and 18 and their families are invited to attend the open evening on Thursday, April 23, from 6.45pm to 9.15pm at the TA Centre, The Shrubbery.

The open evening offers families the chance to learn more about Sea Cadets, a national youth charity that supports young people to develop confidence, teamwork, leadership, and practical life skills.

Activities on offer with the cadets include sailing and boating, navigation, first aid, STEM, fieldcraft, and leadership training, all inspired by the traditions of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Kidderminster Sea Cadets aims to help young people build resilience, make new friends, and gain qualifications, including BTEC and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award opportunities.

The evening will give visitors the opportunity to meet trained volunteer instructors, ask questions, view the programme on offer and find out how to join.

A spokesperson for the unit said: “Sea Cadets gives young people opportunities they may not otherwise access.

“We see confidence grow, friendships develop, and young people discover what they’re capable of.”
