HUNDREDS of youngsters from Wyre Forest Scouts paraded along Kidderminster’s streets as part of the annual St George’s Day parade.

The procession began at 10.30am on Sunday, making its way from New Road to Kidderminster Harriers’ Aggborough Stadium.

The parade arrived at the ground around 20 minutes after it began the journey. There, a celebration of England’s patron saint took place.

Hundreds of people lined the streets and soaked up the sun as they watched the procession go by.

Members of the squirrels, beavers, brownies, cubs, scouts and guides took part in the parade before settling into their seats at Aggborough for the St George’s Day event.

Several dignitaries attended the annual event, including Kidderminster Mayor councillor Doug Hine, Stourport Mayor coun John Thomas and Bewdley Mayor coun Nicole Harper.

A spokesperson for Wyre Forest Scouts said the parade was huge, and thanked everyone who attended and made it so special.

Coun Harper said: “It was great fun attending the St George’s Day parade with Wyre Forest Scouts.

“It’s great to see so many youngsters still active in the movement from squirrels, beavers, brownies and cubs to scouts and guides.”
