WYRE Forest has two of the best performing railway stations in Worcestershire, latest figures show.

The latest figures released by the On Time Trains website have shown that Kidderminster Station is now the 774th best out of the country’s 2,643 stations, which is 92 places better than it ranked in August.

Figures also reveal that Blakedown, meanwhile, has performed the 817th best in the country over the past six months, up 217 places from August.

These figures show that Kidderminster has been the second most reliable stop in Worcestershire over the past six months, beaten only by Alvechurch, while Blakedown station is the most improved in the county.

Of the trains that have been scheduled to stop at Kidderminster over the past six months, 67 per cent have been on time, while 89 per cent have been less than five minutes late.

Only 2 per cent of the trains that arrived at the station were 10 minutes late or more, and only three per cent were cancelled.

Kidderminster was ranked the 448th busiest station in the country over the past six months.

On Time Trains data also shows that, on average, 3404 passengers entered and exited Kidderminster station each day throughout 2025, the highest figure since 2020.

However, it was still well below the pre-COVID-19 peak of 4,645 passengers per day, which was recorded in 2018.

Blakedown, meanwhile, had 61 per cent of its trains arrive on time since August and 89 per cent of its services were less than five minutes late.

In addition, 3 per cent of trains were 10 minutes late or more asnd another 3 per cent have been cancelled.

Blakedown has been the 1,778th busiest station in the country over the past six months.

In 2025, an average of 265 passengers got on or off trains at Blakedown every day.

Back in October, a spokesperson for the rail firm said it invested £70million to upgrade its depot in East Birmingham, which holds the Class 172 fleet which regularly travels to and from Kidderminster.

The spokesperson added these upgrades would reduce the time needed to maintain the train fleets based at the depot, which will help to lessen the impact of disruption and improve the reliability of the service at Kidderminster station.
