Kidderminster's Shaun to take on Brutal Extreme Triathlon to raise funds for Wyre Forest and South Worcestershire Nightstop

Tristan Harris 27th Aug, 2025

A TENACIOUS triathlete from Kidderminster will be taking on a gruelling schedule next month to raise funds for Wyre Forest and South Worcestershire Nightstop.

Shaun Marshall is gearing up for the Brutal Extreme Triathlon on September 20.

During that, he will push himself to the limit with a five-mile open water swim, a 232-mile bike ride, a run up Mount Snowdon and then another 45 miles to the finish line – all that has to be completed in 40 hours.

He has set himself a fundraising target of £2,500 for the cause and already has more than half that amount pledged on his fundraising page.

Wyre Forest and South Worcestershire Nightstop supports 11 to 25-year-olds who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. It helps with emergency accommodation and family mediation.

On his fundraising page, Shaun thanked everyone who had supported this valuable local service and charity.

The charity, which labelled Shaun as ‘truly incredible’, said: “A massive thank you to Shaun for taking on this incredible challenge to support Wyre Forest and South Worcestershire Nightstop and make a difference to vulnerable young people in our community.

“Thanks so much to everyone who has supported so far.

“Let’s get behind our local hero as he takes on this epic test of endurance.”
