PEOPLE have just days left to get free entry to the Museum of Carpet in Kidderminster.

The venue, based at Stour Vale Mill on Green Street, champion’s the town’s proud carpet-making heritage and has offered free admission throughout the month of August.

The Museum of Carpet, staffed by a knowledgeable group of employees and volunteers, showcases more than 300 years of local history.

Visitors can explore more than 300 years of local history which details why Kidderminster was the carpet capital of the world.

People can learn about the lives of the people who worked in the mills and factories, check out the designs, patterns and stories and see historic hand looms in action.

The museum, which opens from 10am to 1.30pm from Tuesday to Saturday, also boasts an extensive collection of objects, photographs, archives and books about the carpet industry from the 19th century through to the present day.

The Museum of Carpet is always looking for new volunteers to join its dedicated team.
