Man stabbed in Stourport pub beer garden

A MAN has been stabbed in Bridge Street in Stourport this afternoon. (Saturday, May 16).

The incident occurred in the garden of the Bridge Inn pub around 2.30pm. A man, in his 30s, has been taken to hospital. At this stage the injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

Police rushed to the scene in both patrol and unmarked cars. And the NPAS police helicopter was also despatched to the scene.

Ch Insp Dave Evans said: “We are conducting a number of quick time enquiries to establish what has occurred and our communities can expect to see a heightened police presence in the area.

“We believe this an isolated incident and we do not believe there is any wider risk to the community.”
