Mayor of Stourport cuts the ribbon as award-winning Spice Fusion reopens after revamp

Kidderminster Editorial 20th Sep, 2025

THE MAYOR of Stourport was among the guests when an award-winning Indian restaurant in the town held a special relaunch event, writes Isabel Matthews.

The extravaganza at Spice Fusion marked a refurbishment of the building but also a debut for the vibrant, seasonally inspired new menu, crafted by celebrity chef patron Sudha Saha.

More than 100 people came to the event, including the Mayor, Coun John Thomas, the Deputy Mayor of Worcester, Coun Tor Pingree, local business leaders, influencers, loyal customers and community supporters.

Guests were treated to an evening of traditional Indian dance performances, a talented DJ, delicious tasters from the new menu, an open buffet and curated delights courtesy of Cobra Beer.

Co-owner of Spice Fusion, Ahad Miah, said: “This is a truly exciting time for Spice Fusion. Our refurbishment and new menu reflect our passion to always delivering an elevated dining experience.

“Collaborating with Michelin-recognised chef Sudha Saha on this menu has been a privilege. We received lots of positive feedback on the night with many attendees saying they were looking forward to revisiting to try innovative dishes from the new menu.”

The new menu at Spice Fusion presents a fusion of South Asian traditions and international influences, while honouring Birmingham’s Asian culinary heritage.

Chef Sudha Saha, whose restaurant Saffron won the coveted 2010 Good Food Guide Restaurant of the Year Award, is renowned for his modern twist on Indian cuisine.

He has become a beloved figure across the West Midlands through his culinary changes and TV appearances on BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
