EVERYONE is welcome to a Christmas Carol Service organised by Stourport Town Council at St Michael and All Angels, Church Drive at 7pm on Thursday, December 11.
The event is the Mayor of Stourport, John Thomas’ annual carol concert.
The service will be led by Rev Carey Saleh, and children from Stourport Primary School will also be taking part in proceedings.
Light refreshments will be available after the service and donations are welcomed – these will be split between the Mayor’s charities – Parkinson’s UK, Kemp Hospice and St Michael and All Angels Church.
It has been a busy time for Coun Thomas who was delighted to tell Bentleys and Maddison – the independent card and gift shop – it had won the ‘Best Dressed Christmas Shop Window’ competition.
Coun Thomas visited the shop and presented staff with their certificate.
The annual contest is held in conjunction with the Stourport Christmas lights switch-on and Three Kings Parade which took place on November 21.
The winner of the Best Dressed Window was decided via a public vote.
Yvonne Savory, a shop assistant at Bentleys and Maddison, said: “We were absolutely amazed and delighted to have won the best dressed window competition.
“We enter every year and we put a lot of effort in so it was fantastic that was recognised and that so many people liked it.
“We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us and it was also great news for the owners.”
A Stourport Town Council spokesperson thanked everyone who voted.
“An especially big ‘thank you’ to all the businesses who have taken part.
“Please do visit our town centre and have a look at all of the entries if you haven’t already done so.”
