Mayor opens Green Cobbler's new premises in Bewdley

A WELL-KNOWN and popular business in Bewdley has settled in its new home and was given an official opening by the Mayor.

The Green Cobbler, which has been established in the town for almost two decades, has moved along from 70 to 62A Load Street.

This marks the third location for the business within the town, demonstrating its strong roots and commitment to remaining at the heart of the Bewdley community.

Current owner Brynn, who took over the business in 2017, has become the familiar face of the town.

He lives locally and runs the business with a small and dedicated team, building lasting relationships with customers.

As well as the usual services you would expect, such as shoe repair and restoration, key cutting, watch batteries and engraving, The Green Cobbler also offers dry cleaning and shoe care products.

And the shop has been one of the Kidderminster Standard stockists which is free to pick up from there every Friday.

The business is proud to have evolved beyond the traditional cobblers’ model, developing an ethos centred around repair, refill and recycle.

A sustainable approach

Over the years, The Green Cobbler has introduced eco-friendly refill products, a large selection of sustainable goods and a recycling scheme that helps reduce waste while raising funds for local charities.

The Green Cobbler a popular stop – not just for customers, but also for their four-legged companions.

Many local dogs enjoy a visit and a well-deserved treat from the team.

Brynn said: “Bewdley is a beautiful riverside town with a fantastic community.

“We’ve had so much loyalty and support over the years, not just through our moves, but also with our charity work and eco initiatives.

“There’s nowhere else we’d rather be.”

The team officially opened the doors at 62A Load Street on April 3 with the Mayor of Bewdley, Coun Nicole Harper, joining them to mark the occasion and for a ribbon cutting ceremony.

She said she was delighted to open the business’ new premises.

The event was well-attended by members of the local community, reflecting the strong support the business continues to receive.

The Green Cobbler has also seen a surge on social media, where it actively share updates with customers on Facebook and Instagram.

The Green Cobbler is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm from Monday to Saturday and looks forward to continuing to serve the community for many years to come.
