WYRE Forest District Council has a new deputy leader.
Coun David Ross, (pictured) who has taken up the role, has been Cabinet Member for Finance and the Capital Portfolio since May 2023.
He represents the Franche and Habberley North Ward and takes over the role from Coun Ben Brookes who remains as Cabinet Member for Operational Services.
The change in the deputy leadership was confirmed by the council leader, Coun Marcus Hart.
He said: “I am delighted to appoint Coun Ross as deputy leader and he will continue to lead the important portfolio he has held for over two years.
“I would also like to extend my thanks to Coun Brookes for his service in the role since May 2024, and I will be able to continue to draw on his advice and support in the cabinet.”
There are no changes to membership of the Cabinet or portfolios.
