New Explorer Scout group opens in Areley Kings, Stourport

Tristan Harris 4th Dec, 2025

A BRAND new Explorer Scout Unit has opened its doors in Areley Kings due to ever-increasing demand.

The group will now enable more teenagers to take up the chance of continuing their Scouting journey to the next level or even to start a whole new adventure with Scouting for the first time.

The new group has been formed thanks to a dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers and it now means there is a new space for young people to challenge themselves, master new skills and make lifelong friends.

The group meets from 7.30pm to 9.15pm every Tuesday and the Areley Kings Explorers are already buzzing with energy and ideas.

Since launching, the Explorers have already been busy with activities like building a crazy golf course (and running a session for Cubs), wide games outdoors, cooking and crafting paracord woggles.

Being an Explorer is all about young people discovering the world on their own terms, gaining new skills and trying things they would never get the chance to do at home or at school.

Whether they want to hike to faraway lands or build a robot in their local church hall, Explorers have a say in their own programme and work together with adult volunteers to make it happen.

And, with plenty more adventures planned for the rest of 2025 and beyond, Areley Kings Explorers are in search of more daring teens to jump into the action.

The group is open to those aged between 14 and 18 who are looking for a new adventure or a new challenge this autumn.

Anyone interested should contact lead volunteer Tris Quiney by emailing tris [email protected] for more information.
