A SPECIAL ceremony to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VJ Day was held at St Mary and All Saints Church on Friday evening.
The service was led by the Mercian Volunteer Regimental Association and supported by the Royal British Legion Kidderminster, Wyre Forest District Council and Kidderminster Town Council.
Standards were on parade and wreaths were laid at the war memorial.
Music was performed by the Kidderminster Male Choir which delighted those gathered as the community came together to honour the courage and sacrifice of all those who served.
Kidderminster Town Council thanked everyone who went along, adding: “Your presence helped us mark this important occasion of remembrance with dignity and respect.”
