THE WILDLIFE and Countryside Fair held in Stourport last Saturday has been hailed a massive success.
More than 500 people turned up to the event, which was organised by the Wyre Forest Green Alliance, in partnership with Greener Stourport and the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.
The fair took place at the Severn’s Club in Lickhill Road and featured guest speakers who gave talks on a variety of wildlife and nature subjects.

Among them were heathlands, regenerative farming, butterflies and deer which could be found in Wyre Forest, Worcestershire’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy, No Mow May to help wildlife and more.
John Rhymer, chair of Wyre Forest Green Alliance, said: “We are delighted at the number of people who attended and the enthusiasm they showed for the protection of the natural world.
“The Fair brought together wildlife groups, conservation organisations and community initiatives for a truly inspiring day.
“Visitors were able to explore stalls and displays from wildlife organisations, browse book and local produce sales, and enjoy children’s activities.”

He added the short talks throughout the day were very popular, giving attendees the chance to hear from local experts about wildlife, conservation, and sustainable land management.
John added: “With growing interest in biodiversity and climate action, we feel confident the event has helped connect members of the public with practical ways to support wildlife close to home.”
