THOUSANDS of people turned out for this year’s Stourport Carnival on Saturday.

The event – which this year was celebrating its centenary – was expected to be busier than ever and it did not disappoint.

The carnival boasted a fantastic day out for all the family with two river parades, a fun-filled land parade, live entertainment throughout the day and a fantastic firework display to end the night.

The popular extravaganza’s land parade featured floats, marching bands and a variety of small vehicle and walking entries – something for everyone.

A spokesperson for the event told the Standard: “Stourport Carnival 2025 was amazing.

“There was a super turn out for the parade, both those watching and taking part.

“Thankfully the weather gods were on our side and we were blessed with perfect carnival weather.

“It was fantastic to see so many people having fun on the field soaking up the carnival atmosphere and enjoying the live entertainment that took place throughout the day.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the day in whatever way.

“We’re excited to find out how much we raised in the parade collection buckets!

“The rumour mill is churning that this is the last Stourport Carnival.

“There are a few of our long-standing committee members stepping down following our 100th year but hopefully some new fresh faces will come on board.

“All we can say is, time will tell.”

Ahead of the centenary event, an appeal was made, including through the Standard, for former carnival queens to contact the organisers for a special celebration.

There was a tremendous turn-out of ex-Stourport Carnival royalty and some joined the organisers on The River King – along with the newly-crowned Queen’s Court in the river parades.
