PLANS have been lodged to demolish a double garage and replace it with a takeaway.
An application for the property on Bridge Road, Cookley, Kidderminster, to build a single-storey fast food unit has been submitted to Wyre Forest District Council.
It is not specified in the planning application what the takeaway will be or what cuisine it will serve.
Planning documents reveal the takeaway would comprise an open plan kitchen, kitchenette, toilets for the staff and an amenity area.
There would also be a space at the back of the takeaway for staff to store the bins away from the public using the takeaway.
Documents add the plan detailed in the application had been designed to ensure an efficient operation, to minimise disruption to local residents, existing business and road users and to maintain high standards of safety and hygiene.
To further minimise disturbance, stock deliveries to the takeaway would be restricted to 9am until 5pm on Monday to Saturday.
There would be no stock deliveries to the takeaway on Sunday or on bank holidays and home delivery services for customer orders will only operate within approved business opening hours.
The site delivery management plan submitted by the applicant added: “Stock deliveries will be delivered using small commercial vans only and home deliveries will be carried out via mopeds and bicycles, mainly through third-party delivery platforms.
“Delivery partners will be instructed to park responsibly via the existing parking space adjacent to the unit and not on the main road, and to avoid any obstruction to nearby properties, roads, or footpaths.”
Residents now have until March 31 to have their say on the application.
