POLICE in Kidderminster are investigating after racist graffiti was sprayed near a railway bridge in the town and on a footpath.

The scrawl appeared over the weekend at Station Road and Hoo Road (below) and was reported to West Mercia Police.

The Standard was contacted by a resident who was ‘appalled’ by the graffiti and the Kidderminster Safer Neighbourhood Team said it had contacted the council and the graffiti on the railway bridge had been removed.

Officers have been checking CCTV near the area and have urged witnesses or anyone with information on those responsible to email the Kidderminster SNT at: [email protected] or call officers on 101.

A Wyre Forest District Council spokesperson told the Standard on Thursday: “We were made aware of the offensive graffiti on Comberton Road in Kidderminster, which our Street Scene team removed yesterday.

“Graffiti on the pavement at Hoo Road is also being cleaned today by a contractor on behalf of the council.

“We encourage residents and the wider community to report graffiti via My Wyre Forest.”
