'Proud of town council's 2025 achievements' - Kidderminster Mayor's monthly column

Kidderminster Editorial 30th Dec, 2025

I THINK all at Kidderminster Town Council are proud of our achievements in 2025.

We area small organisation with limited responsibilities but have successfully maintained high standards in the parks that we manage and jointly delivered popular community events (such as VE Day, Remembrance Sunday and Christmas events).

Most significantly, we have reopened a revitalised Town Hall and started a variety of popular entertainment and activities.

Looking ahead to 2026, there is a strong commitment to maintaining this level of engagement and support within the local community.

More broadly in the town, I acknowledge the past year has brought its share of challenges, but it has also highlighted opportunities for renewal.

Businesses may close, but others open in their place.

As mayor, I welcome the chance to visit your event or business and show my support.

Contact the council office at: [email protected] to request an invitation form.

During the first half of my mayoral term, I have supported community events, charities, shop openings, restaurants, pubs and enjoyed wonderful local performances.

During these activities, I have had the privilege of meeting many dedicated and interesting people.

I look forward to continuing this experience as Mayor into 2026.

Coun Doug Hine
