Road closures in Bewdley as flood defences to be deployed

Ryan Smith 12th Nov, 2025

ROADS are set to be closed in Bewdley tomorrow as the Environment Agency deploys flood defences.

The Severn Side North will be closed from 7:30am tomorrow (Thursday, November 13) and will remain closed until the defences are removed.

The B4195 Stourport Road and B4190 Bewdley Bridge and Beales Corner, will be closed from 7:00pm for around 4 hours.

The B4190 Bewdley Bridge and Beales Corner will reopen to two-way traffic but B4195 Stourport Road will remain closed until the defences are removed.

Bewdley’s £10million flood risk management scheme for Beales Corner officially opened back in September.

The scheme, is expected to deliver a major upgrade to the town’s flood defences, benefiting 50 properties and maintaining access to businesses for decades to come.

At the time, Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier said: “A huge amount of effort has gone into getting this done.

“The result? That both sides of the Severn in Bewdley will be protected from flooding, causing less disruption for our town.”
