'So much joy in town' - Christmas message from the Mayor of Bewdley

Kidderminster Editorial 25th Dec, 2025

THIS is the season of Christmas celebrations.

On November 29 I was delighted to switch on our town Christmas lights.

It was amazing to see Load Street and the bridge full of joyful people, despite the cold wet evening.

Bewdley is now even lovelier than usual, with our festive streetlights, the stars projected on the bridge and the brightly decorated shop windows.

In all the Christmas concerts and carol services, I have been touched by the performances of everyone, from little children to elderly choirs.

None of this would happen without a lot of hard work.

This is also a time for us to be thankful for all the people who give their time and work to help our community: the volunteers who run the foodbanks and the warm spaces, the support groups and the community events.

All of you make Bewdley a thriving and caring community.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Coun Nicole Harper,

Mayor of Bewdley
