WORK to complete the new Sons of Rest pavilion in Kidderminster’s Brinton Park is gathering pace.
Timber cladding is now being installed on the exterior of the pavilion.
The Friends of Brinton Park has shared images of the pavilion on Facebook.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The exterior of the pavilion is really starting to take shape.
“Since the brickwork was completed, some have asked why part of the exterior looked different.
“That section was always intended to be finished with timber cladding and it’s great to see the design coming together.”
The much-loved park has been undergoing a £3million refurbishment with £2.4million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Improvement works include building the new Sons of Rest pavilion.
The new structure is being created sensitively to reflect the heritage of the original one, which was built in 1938.
There will be a cafe inside, looking out onto a new terrace which overlooks a newly-installed ornamental pond.
Other improvements, to attracting more wildlife, include management of nearby woodland, the installation of bat boxes and landscaping, with new flower beds and shrub planting also planned.
