WHILE Kidderminster Town Hall is temporarily closed for transformation works, Heritage Open Week is being brought to people online.
As part of the National Lottery Heritage Funded Project, ‘A Journey Through Kidderminster’s Town Hall’, a special series of podcasts has been recorded to capture treasured memories and the rich history of the building.
Among contributors are historians Mike Loftus and Gay Hill.
Mike, who is very interested in industrial regeneration, talks about the origins of the Town Hall which was an anchor for the development of Kidderminster as a major industrial town.
Gay is a historian involved in the research aspect of the project and examines famous visitors to the hall, which included three Prime Ministers, three monarchs and also held three suffrage meetings.
