Step back in time at Bewdley Museum's FREE Georgian weekend

Tristan Harris 18th Sep, 2025

A GEORGIAN weekend will take place at Bewdley Museum as part of the Heritage Open Days.

The event, which will enable visitors to step back in time, will take place from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21.

The venue will be buzzing with excitement with a Georgian Drinking Chocolate workshop at various times. Visitors will be able to see a fascinating demonstration before getting to make and taste their own traditional Georgian hot chocolate.

Between 11am and 12pm on both days, there will be a Walking Tour of Bewdley – The Georgian Town. This provides a fun and insightful walk through Bewdley’s Georgian past.

For both of those events, booking is essential as spaces are limited.

There will be live music in Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Gardens from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, there will be Sophistication Strings – a trio playing classical, jazz, and pop and on

Sunday, the Bellini Strings – a professional string ensemble performing everything from Baroque masterpieces to film favourites – will take centre stage.

And on Sunday, there will be the chance to ‘Meet Jane Austen’. People can celebrate 250 years since her birth, enjoying readings from her works and talks on her life, brought to you by historian Lesley Smith.
