A COMPANY which offers drivers services and vehicle advice for a number of vehicles has donated a car to Kidderminster College for automotive apprentice students to work on.
Stourbridge Automotive Ltd provided one of its former collection and delivery cars – a BMW 1 Series – as a modern training vehicle to support hands-on learning and real world skills development.
The firm helps motorists who own BMWs, Audis, Mercedes and Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover (the latter, all JLR group).

It said the donation reflected its commitment to giving back to the community, especially as one of Stourbridge Automotive’s own apprentices is currently enrolled in the college’s automotive programme.
Kay Fellows, from Stourbridge Automotive, said: “We are so pleased to be able to give back.
“This BMW is one of several cars we’ve used to deliver that extra bit of quality service to our customers, and we’re proud to see it now helping young people build their future careers.”
Jack Draper, employer engagement officer at Kidderminster College, added: “It’s fantastic to see local businesses investing back into education.
“With a national skills gap and a growing pipeline challenge in the automotive sector, partnerships like these are much needed and hugely valued.”

The vehicle will be used by students for diagnostic, maintenance training, and practical assessments, strengthening the college’s ability to prepare learners for careers in a rapidly evolving industry.
The firm added, with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) estimating there to be a skills gap of more than 3,000 jobs being advertised, partnerships like this one were a must to support a thriving automotive industry into the future.
