YOUNGSTERS from primary schools in Stourport and Hartlebury have been designing and painting traditional wooden Gypsy caravans at creative workshops run by Worcestershire County Museum.
The children, from St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School, in Stourport, and Hartlebury CE Primary School, have been getting creative and painting the traditional wooden Gypsy ‘vardos’.
Their creations, designed and painted by the children and their families, will be going on display at Worcestershire County Museum, at Hartlebury Castle, throughout June.
They will be on display alongside decorations in the museum, celebrating the history of Gypsy, Roma and Travelling people throughout Worcestershire.
Verity Worthington, Worcestershire County Museum’s learning co-ordinator, said: “It has been wonderful to see the children and their families enjoy designing the vardos and the amazing creations they have produced.
“We are so excited to share these with visitors.”
