A COFFEE morning hosted by the Mayor of Stourport, Coun John Thomas, to raise funds for his chosen charities.
The event, at The Civic on April 10, brought together members of the community to fundraise for two great causes – Parkinson’s UK Midlands and KEMP Hospice.
Thanks to the generous donations of cakes and refreshments from Tesco Stourport Community Champions and AF Blakemore and Son Ltd, along with a successful raffle, an impressive £250 was raised.
Representatives from both Parkinson’s UK Midlands and KEMP Hospice joined fundraisers on the day, sharing valuable information about their vital work.
The cash collected will be split equally between both charities at the end of the Mayor’s term of office next month.
A spokseperson for Stourport Town Council said: “Our sincere thanks to The Civic for hosting the event and for also kindly donating a raffle prize.
“Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated and supported the morning.”
KEMP Hospice added: “It was a lovely morning and wonderful to speak with people in the local community.
“It was a brilliant amount raised – thank you to everyone who generously donated.
“And thank you for choosing KEMP as one of your chosen charities.
“We are so grateful for your continued support,”
And Tesco Stourport Community Champions said: “Congratulations on raising £250.
“We are more than happy to help.
“Well done.”
