FOUR young members of the Stourport Spartans Boxing Club took to the ring in Birmingham on Saturday to showcase their skills.
The rising talents demonstrated their determination and talent at The Magnet Centre in the Second City.
It underlined the club’s growing reputation for developing promising young fighters.
Four Spartans stepped through the ropes and produced performances which reflected both their dedication in training and their continued development in the sport.
How they fared

The club’s coaching team said: “Gracie Hart gave a composed and technically assured display, demonstrating sharp movement and strong ring awareness.
“Hart remained calm under pressure, selecting her shots intelligently while showing defensive work and timing improvements.”
They added Frisco Loveridge followed Hart’s showing with a determined performance, impressing with slick footwork and a relentless work rate.
“Loveridge consistently pressed forward, utilising an effective jab to control exchanges and exhibiting notable resilience throughout the bout.”

The coaching team said Jamie Quilligan highlighted his disciplined approach and clean technique.
“By adhering to fundamental boxing principles, Quilligan showcased excellent balance and precise shot selection, earning praise for his focused execution.”
And they said Bailey Abson-Cresswell completed the Spartans’ line-up, bringing energy and courage to the ring.
“He maintained a positive mindset and demonstrated perseverance and growing confidence, alongside a strong competitive spirit.”

Coaches and supporters hailed the event as a significant success, crediting the athletes’ effort, attitude and visible progress.
The performances were seen as clear evidence that the club’s training programme is yielding tangible results.
Coaching team praise
The coaching team was recognised for its dedication, commitment and expertise as it continued to shape the club’s success.
Kailen Rushton, Klayton Rushton, Jake Hollis, Keaton Rushton and Melissa Jane Tout were all praised for their hands-on approach, technical guidance and unwavering support for each boxer.
Gym owner Anthony Rushton has been credited with fostering an inclusive and disciplined environment in which athletes of all ages and abilities can thrive.
Together, the coaching staff have played a pivotal role in developing not only boxing ability, but also confidence, resilience and respect among their fighters.
The showcase was made possible by organisers and contributors, including Luke Greenshields, Lee Hodge, Team Immortal Gym, medical staff and behind-the-scenes teams.
The successful Birmingham outing gave Stourport Spartans’ young fighters valuable experience under competitive conditions and the club hopes to build momentum
following the event.
