RESIDENTS from a care home were given a special visit to the newly revamped Kidderminster Town Hall.
The group from Foley Grange were treated to a memorable day out after being warmly welcomed for their guided visit to the historic venue.
The event came about after staff at Foley Grange contacted Kidderminster Town Hall to ask whether residents could enjoy a tour of the building.
The Town Hall team were delighted to accommodate the request, going above and beyond by arranging not only a tour but also a fascinating talk from local historian Mike. He generously volunteered his time to share stories about the history of the Town Hall and Kidderminster itself.
The Town Hall has recently undergone extensive renovations and now features the newly opened Courtyard Cafe. Residents and colleagues enjoyed lunch together in the cafe, making the visit a truly social and relaxing experience.

Importantly, residents living with dementia were also able to attend the trip, with the Town Hall staff praised for their kindness, patience and understanding throughout the visit. Many of the residents who attended are lifelong Kidderminster residents, making the experience especially meaningful and close to their hearts.
Following the success of the visit, Foley Grange Care Home has invited historian Mike to visit the home to deliver another history talk for residents – an invitation he was happy to accept.
Beth Phillips, Foley Grange’s front of house manager, said: “Our visit to Kidderminster Town Hall was absolutely wonderful from start to finish.
“The team made us feel so welcome and were incredibly accommodating, especially towards our residents living with dementia.
“For many of our residents, visiting the Town Hall brought back fond memories of their younger years, and Mike’s history talk really captured everyone’s attention.
“We cannot thank the Town Hall staff enough for making the day so special.”
