TWO homes were evacuated in Stourport after a fire involving a tumble dryer in a shed.

Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wyre Forest Fire Station were called at 8:33pm on Monday (November 24) to a house fire in Wivelden Avenue, Stourport-on-Severn.

The fire involved a bin store which had spread to the ground floor of a two-storey semi-detached house.

All people living in the house were accounted for.

The fire was extinguished by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using two hosereel jets, and positive pressure ventilation was used to ventilate.

A neighbouring house was also evacuated while ventilation was carried out.

The fire involved a tumble dryer in a shed.

There were no casualties, and no other emergency services were required.

The fire service left the scene around 70 minutes after they were first called.
