TWO MEN from Bewdley have been charged in connection with a series of alleged thefts of tools, totalling almost £13,000, from vehicles across Carmarthenshire and mid-Wales.
Robbie Bate, 27, of Bewdley, has been charged with five counts of theft from a motor vehicle.
He is accused of stealing tools worth £3,000 from a vehicle in Builth Wells and a Stihl chainsaw valued at £450 from a vehicle in Brecon, between July 15 and 18.
Bate is also charged with stealing tools worth £1,787.88 from a vehicle belonging to Central Roofing in Newcastle Emlyn between July 22 and 25, as well as £6,500 of tools and a further £1,400 of tools from two vehicles in Carmarthenshire during the same period.
Aston Amos, 35, of Ribbesford Road, Bewdley, has already appeared at Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court facing seven charges linked to alleged tool thefts.
The case against Bate was heard at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on August 15.
He will next appear at Swansea Crown Court and where he was granted bail. He will appear there again on September 15 to enter his pleas.
