THE THREE-year-old Bengal cat which went missing from Stourport has been reunited with his owner – thanks to the Standard.
Benji was brought over to the town by Paul England from Australia.
He was visiting his mum for the summer and planned to take Benji back Down Under when he returned.
But, a change in the law in Australia meant that Bengal cats are now classed as an exotic breed.
For that reason, it was decided it would be best for him to stay with Paul’s mum in Lickhill Manor Caravan Park, Stourport.
But, when Benji managed to get free from the caravan, Paul and his mum were concerned about where he had got to.
Paul contacted the Standard via Facebook and we shared his appeal at 12.33pm this afternoon, asking if anyone in the area had seen him.
By 12.55pm, we had received an email from Lou Breakwell who lives near the caravan site.
She owns three cats and found Benji helping himself to her pets’ food in her kitchen (pictured below)

She kept him safe until her husband got home and Benji was then returned and reunited with Paul’s mum.
She said: “It was just luck he came into our house and we just wanted to get him back with his owner.
“We are so happy we could help.”
Paul added: “I want to thank both the Standard and Lou so much – my family and I are so grateful that he’s been found.
“Myself and my mum are absolutely overjoyed.”
