Wolverley Football Club names mascot in memory of teen Aaron

WOLVERLEY Football Club have named their mascot after amazing Kidderminster teenager Aaron Mills, who tragically died from Meningitis.

Swazza the Swan has been unveiled by Wolverley football club as a tribute to the football-loving teen.

Aaron passed away from meningitis B on January 3, just days after he began feeling run-down and unwell.

Aaron earned the nickname ‘Swazza’ due to the curl he used to put on his shots when striking a football.

Wolverley put out a public call for suggestions to name their new mascot, and after many entries and much deliberation, they decided on the name ‘Swazza.’

Aaron was a young mentor at Swans 4 All, which is run by Wolverley FC and is available for children aged five and above of all abilities the chance to play the beautiful game.




Aaron was a big part of Aaron’s life, and his ultimate dream was to become a coach at his beloved Liverpool.

He was at home from studying in Liverpool, enjoying a family Christmas, when he began feeling run-down and woke up with a headache on December 30.


He was given paracetamol and went back to bed, but minutes later, his dad, Anthony and mum Deniz discovered he was having a seizure with ambulance staff immediately suspecting meningitis, and he passed away on January 3.

Following his tragic passing, the Aaron Love Mills Forever Fund website was created, with the aim being for people to be able to sign up and promote charity events to raise cash for charity Meningitis Now.

A charity match in memory of Aaron will take place at 2pm on Saturday, May 16, at Stourport Swifts FC.
