World Rivers Day - Bewdley's Campaign Against Rivers Pollution to hold afternoon of talks, poetry and videos

Tristan Harris 22nd Sep, 2025

THE COMMUNITIES Against River Pollution (CARP) is inviting everyone to help it mark World Rivers Day in Bewdley

Rivers For the Future, Learning from the Past – an afternoon of talks, poetry and videos – takes place from 2pm to 6pm next Sunday, September 28, at Bewdley Baptist Church.

Following on from the successful Remember our River event in June 2025, supported by musician Robert Plant, the afternoon will provide the opportunity for people to listen, think, discuss, learn and act to work towards improving the quality of the nation’s rivers and will be accompanied by refreshments from Bewdley WI.

Dee Edwards, chair of CARP, said: “We are delighted to welcome Melissa Green, CEO of WI, and Drew Richardson, from River Action, to talk about the campaigns their organisations have undertaken to improve the quality of our rivers and seas.”

Janice Bell, CARP founding member, added: “We are hoping to bring people together in a meaningful and constructive way by looking at how the river has changed over the years, sharing what we have done so far to identify the state of the river and to launch our latest initiative of Rover Guardians.”
