Wyre Forest Citizen's Advice appeals for volunteers to continue services

Tristan Harris 30th Mar, 2026

CITIZEN’S Advice Wyre Forest (CAB WF) needs additional funding and develop new partnerships to safeguard its essential services.

CAB WF – an independent local charity and part of the wider Citizens Advice network – said it was extremely grateful to its funders in both charitable and public sectors but added funding was increasingly competitive and the community’s needs continued to grow.

To maintain and expand its services, CAB WF is keen to work with businesses, town and parish councils, community groups and charitable organisations.

Support could be through financial contributions, sponsorship, fundraising partnerships or collaborative schemes – every contribution directly strengthens the wellbeing and resilience of people across Wyre Forest.

Citizens Advice Wyre Forest provides free, confidential and impartial advice to thousands of residents each year, regardless of background or circumstance, helping them find a way forward during life’s most challenging moments.

From debt and housing problems to benefits, employment concerns and rising energy costs, trained advisers and dedicated volunteers deliver practical support when it is needed most.

As the cost of living continues to pinch, demand for its services is growing, with more households facing financial hardship and uncertainty.

Those supporting Citizens Advice Wyre Forest are helping ensure no one has to face financial hardship, housing insecurity or legal confusion alone.

In 2024/25 alone, CAB WF supported 4,141 clients with 14,797 individual issues. Nearly half (46 per cent) needed benefits and tax credits advice, a fifth required charitable support, including foodbank assistance, 852 people had housing issues and 677 needed debt advice – vital intervention to stop situations developing into a crisis.

CAB WF would welcome conversations with organisations and community leaders who want to make a local difference to ensure vital advice services remain accessible to everyone who needs them.
