THE WYRE Forest Rangers have been hard at work to give the boardwalks and bridges at Blakemarsh and Spennells Valley Nature Reserves a major safety upgrade
As part of the work, old chicken wire was removed, the paths were cleaned board by board and new anti-slip strips were installed.

The work – by eight people over three days – saw thousands of staples pulled out by hand.
It has meant smarter, stronger and safer paths for everyone to enjoy.

Volunteers at the reserves give up their time on Wednesdays and Thursdays to look after the array of nature across Wyre Forest.
The team is always looking for more people to join its ranks.
