THE KIDDERMINSTER Standard is celebrating the first anniversary of its print edition following its launch this time last year.
The first edition came out on April 11, 2025, and since then we have brought you more than 1,000 stories about Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport and the surrounding areas, both in the paper and on our website.
We have also brought you Kidderminster, Bewdley and Stourport sport, news from the wider Worcestershire area and features. And we have given businesses the chance to advertise their services and organisations the opportunity to promote their events.
We have covered a multitude of local issues across the three towns, including council stories, brought you the latest police, fire and ambulance reports and covered a variety of events, productions and shows.
So many contributors
We have also been grateful to our regular contributors who provide us with interesting and enlightening content for our readers – including the Mayor of Kidderminster, Coun Doug Hine, Mayor of Bewdley, Coun Nicole Harper, Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier, Communities Against River Pollution (CARP), Wyre Forest Citizen’s Advice and former local sports editor Chris Oldnall with his popular ‘Harriers Heritage’ column.
The print edition
The paper is available to pick up every Friday from supermarkets and other outlets across Wyre Forest.

Kidderminster Standard editor Tristan Harris said: “We started with our kidderminsterstandard.co.uk website back in September 2024 and then the print edition followed last year.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response from our readers who have been picking up copies of the paper every week, logging onto our website on a daily basis and following us on social media – Facebook and Instagram.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to provide news, sports and entertainment for the three towns and we look forward to continuing our coverage for many years to come.”
Coun Doug Hine, the Mayor of Kidderminster, congratulated the Kidderminster Standard on reaching its first anniversary.
“Publishing is a marginal business, so well done to Tristan Harris, Head of Editorial, and the team at Bullivant Media Group for reaching this milestone.
“It’s great to have more diversity in our local news – in print and online.”
Coun Harper said: “As Mayor of Bewdley I have been delighted to contribute a monthly column to the Standard, which has found a well-deserved place among our local press.
“I offer them my sincere congratulations on reaching their first anniversary and wish them well for the future.
“Local news is very important to many people, and they need the balanced reporting from the Standard, rather than relying on social media.”
